Dear Parents,

Please read this email in it's entirety, as there is very important information concerning our return procedures! Also, I have attached Home-Friendly lesson plans for NEXT week to this email! Next week, we will be talking about Picnics, so be prepared to have some fun! We’d love for your child to join us each day for our Circle Time LIVE at 11am. Simply visit Georgia-academy.com/zoom to join.

We still have plans to reopen on Friday, May 1, 2020. We will maintain our limited hours of 7am to 6pm for the time being. Any children who attend May 1, will be charged the $40 daily rate. Normal billing will not proceed until May 4, 2020.

We have plans to continue precautions as they were before we closed. Parents/guardians will not be permitted to enter the building for drop off and pick up. We will have greeters waiting at the front door to assist you in getting your child in the building during drop off. We will be setting up one main pickup window from 4pm-6pm. If you need to pickup before the pickup window, please call the center 15 minutes prior to your arrival, so that we can prepare your child.

During both drop off and pickup, please use the far right lane in our parking lot and pull your car up to the furthest available number sign. Each family will be given a a sign to place in their windshield to help us identify your car quicker. However, if the driver is not able to be personally identified by the carpool greeter, they will be asked to park while we check their ID on the child's pickup list. We will work swiftly and promptly, however, we ask you to be gracious and patient with us. We will not rush this process.

Infant parents will need to use the messaging platform on the Himama app to send in drop off information. This information must include wake up time, time of last feeding, time of last diaper change, and other important information for the day.

We ask that all non-automatic payments be made by ACH or credit card over the phone or with a check while dropping off/picking up to limit the handling of money. If you must pay with cash, please park and call the center. Someone will meet you at your car to receive payment and give a receipt.

Please check your child’s temperature each morning before dropping off. Temporarily, Georgia Academy’s fever policy will be moved to 99°F. We will conduct temperature checks at drop off and throughout the day. Should your child have a fever of 99°F or higher, we will require pickup within the hour and they will not be able to return until they have been fever-free without medication for at least 24 hours.

Before children enter their classroom, we will be washing their hands in the cafeteria. We will also be serving all meals in the classrooms until further notice.

If you or anyone you know (knowingly) encounter someone diagnosed with Coronavirus COVID-19, please make Georgia Academy aware as soon as possible. Our goal is to put normal procedures back into place as soon as we feel it is safe to do so. We can't wait to see all of our students again! We have missed everyone SO much!

Thank you,
Ms. Brooke

Dear Parents,

We want to thank each of you for your continued support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to the governor's extension of the Stay At Home Order, we believe it to be in the best interest of our families, teachers, and students to remain closed through April 30th. We are praying that this is the last extension of our temporary closure so that we can return to school on May 1st!

We will continue providing digital learning opportunities through our website at www.georgia-academy.com/covid-19. There you will find a recommended daily schedule, lesson plans for each week, printable activities and resources, as well as a place to re-watch our Circle Time Videos and to join the live feed each morning at 11am. Our goal is to help you keep your child on a strong routine with continued learning until we are able to return to school.

We appreciate each and every one of you! May you have a Happy SAFE Easter Weekend! We hope to see you Monday at 11am on our LIVE Circle Time with Friends and in person on May 1st! Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out!

Thank you,

Dear Georgia Academy Families,

Thank you for the tremendous response to the Childcare Needs Survey sent out yesterday. The information given was very beneficial in helping us make decisions moving forward. In case you aren't aware, Governor Kemp announced a Statewide Stay At Home Order April 3, 2020 through April 13, 2020. With this in mind, we will be remaining closed through at least April 13, 2020. We understand that a few of our families are lacking in childcare options at this time, and that is what made this such a hard decision. However, we feel it is important to do what we can to protect our families, children, and staff.

We are doing our best to stay connected and continue learning opportunities through digital communications! We would love for you to join us each day this week and next week for our LIVE Circle Time with Friends. The children participating have really enjoyed getting to log on and see some of their friends and teachers.

Should you have any questions for us, we would be more than happy to speak with you. You may call us directly or email us using the contact details listed below. We want to thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we do our best to make the right decisions during this time of uncertainty.

Thank you,

Mark Pruitt and Brooke Pruitt

Dear Parents,

Thank you so much for your understanding during this uncertain time. The patience, encouragement, and support from all of our families has been overwhelming. Unfortunately, Georgia Academy has made the tough decision to temporarily close our doors until at least April 6, 2020. Our goal was to stay open to care for essential healthcare and emergency workers’ children, however this is no longer possible due to Governor Kemp’s order, stated below:

“IT IS FURTHER ORDERED: That no business, establishment, corporation, non-profit corporation, or organization shall allow more than ten (10) persons to be gathered at a single location if such gathering requires persons to stand or to be seated within six (6) feet of any other person.”

This was not an easy decision to make, but we feel that closing is the only way to ensure the health and safety of all our clients and staff. We will credit full tuition to all accounts for this week and will charge a daily rate of $40/day for anyone in attendance yesterday (3/23/2020) and today (3/24/2020). No accounts will be billed during closure. All notices are subject to change, so we will continue to stay in contact with all of our families using our Facebook Page and the Himama App.

Thank you again,
Brooke Pruitt

Dear Georgia Academy Families,

We appreciate your patience with us as we are figuring out what the best decisions are for our business and clients. At this time, we are aware that many of you are not able to work or are not receiving normal pay. If your child did not attend this week, we have credited ½ of your tuition to your account. If you would like to use a sick week, we can credit the other ½ of your tuition to your account, as well, making your tuition for this week $0.00. You can use up to 2 sick weeks per year. We will follow the same billing procedures next week and will decide on further actions by next Friday, March 27. We will be reaching out to all of our families on Monday to talk about how you would like to proceed with this week and next week’s billing. Should you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

Thank you,
Mark Pruitt

Dear Valued Parents,

Please know that the health and safety of the children and families we serve is our top priority. We are continuing to actively monitor the ongoing developments of the Coronavirus COVID-19. At this time, we do not have plans to close our facility, however, we will act in accordance with the recommendations of the CDC, Health Department, and Bright from the Start. This situation is changing rapidly and we are taking all precautions to stay informed.

We are urging parents to take additional measures to help us keep our school a safe environment. If your child has any signs of illness, please keep them home. All children with symptoms of illness, including low grade fevers, will be sent home during this time. Thank you for being cooperative and understanding, and thank you for choosing Georgia Academy. We will update you on necessary developments using the HiMama App and Facebook.

Dear Parents and Guardians,

As of today, Friday, March 13, 2020, Georgia Academy will be remaining open for business. However, our GA Pre-K program will be closed for two weeks following the Oconee County School System. Childcare for Pre-K and school age students will be available at normal holiday pricing. Though we aren’t closing, we will, however, be implementing a few key changes in our operations as we navigate through this uncertain time.

The biggest change parents need to be aware of concerns our drop off and pick up procedures. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020 and until further notice, parents/guardians will not be permitted to enter the building for drop off and pick up. We will have greeters waiting at the front door to assist you in getting your child in the building during drop off. We will be setting up two pickup windows for your family to choose from: 4:30pm-5:30pm or 5:30pm-6:30pm. You will need to make the front desk staff aware of your chosen pickup window by end of business today. If you are unable to pickup during your selected window, please call the center 15 minutes prior to your arrival, so that we can prepare your child.

During both drop off and pickup, please use the far right lane in our parking lot and pull your car up to the door. We will work swiftly and promptly, however, we ask you to be gracious and patient with us as we learn this new protocol. We will not rush this process. Please be advised that if an ID check is necessary, the pickup person may be asked to park while we check the pickup list.

If you or anyone you know (knowingly) encounter someone diagnosed with Coronavirus COVID-19 or have traveled to an area affected by Coronavirus COVID-19, please make Georgia Academy aware as soon as possible. Thank you for your cooperation and thank you for choosing Georgia Academy!
